Landing/Capture Page Weblet Instructions and Tips

The landing/capture pagei will be used to create attractive information and opt-in pages for your prospects. The Landing/Capture Page Weblet will also be used in conjunction with the Email Weblet to automatically create a capture page opt in or subscription form. Capture pages will capture your prospects' contact information.

When you click enter from the Landing/Capture Page Weblet, you forward to the Landing Page navigation page. You will see a number of selections from which to choose. The first is Instructions and Tips (printer friendly), and we suggest you print the instructions first. Keep the instructions nearby as you navigate through the Landing/Capture Page options.

The first section after the Instructions and Tips link is the Landing/Capture Pages section. The first link (Create new landing/capture page) takes you to a page where you can create an entire landing or capture page from start to finish.

The Style Templates section is where you may choose a page color and style for your landing/capture page. You may also create your own "customized" style template.

The Content Templates section is what you should choose if you wish to replicate your content. For example, you could create a content template, then reuse the content on several landing or capture pages. When creating a landing or capture page, you could choose different style templates for each page. Another example would be to save a logo or title area as part of the content template, then reuse it for every landing/capture page, so the logo does not have to be loaded each time.

Landing/Capture Pages:  In this section, you may create your landing/capture page from start to finish:

  • Step 1: Click on "Create new landing/capture page."
  • Step 2: Name your landing or capture page. This name should reference the name of your campaigni in some way. The name is for your reference only, and will not be displayed on your finished landing/capture page.
  • Step 3: Choose a style template. There is a link under the "Style Template" option that will allow you to view the available style templates. Make note of your favorite style template. Choose your favorite style template from the "Style Template" drop-down menu.
  • Step 4: Go to the "Content Body" box under the rich text editori area, shown in the blue shaded region. This is where you will enter the text that will appear on the landing or capture page. The various icons in the light blue shaded region at the top of the "Content Body" area will allow you to style your text. Type the text into the open area just under the blue shaded region, then click the icons to style the text. See about the icons and rich text editor by going to the Glossary. You can also read about how to put video on your page by clicking the How to Add Video link in the left sidebar. There are a number of tools in the right sidebar. These are called Zemanta tools. Zemanta tools allow you to easily add images by simply clicking on an image you like, or click and drag images to the "Content Body" area to place multiple images (see Glossary).
  • Step 5: If you wish to turn your landing pagei into a capture page, you may want to include a footer, which will appear below your email subscription form. The "Content Footer" has the same rich text editor tools as the "Content Body". The "Content Footer" is useful if you would like to include a copyright or p.s. at the bottom of the page.
  • Step 6: Your landing page can be turned into a capture page. Fill out the CAPTURE PAGE OPTIONS section. Select the mailing list from the Target Mailing List drop-down menu to add a subscription form which will automatically appear on any capture page that requests an email address from the prospect. You may also request a first and/or last name, by checking the First Name and/or Last Name checkboxes. It is a good idea to also check the Require First Name checkbox so that the prospect must enter their first name to enable them to subscribe to your list. This will allow your email program to personalize the emails to this prospect using their first name. If you have not yet created a mailing list, you may create it by entering the Email Weblet. You may create new lists, and edit the lists you have already created by clicking on the "mailing Lists" link in the Email Weblet.
  • Step 7: Click the Save button at the bottom of the page to save your landing page. You will automatically be sent to your new landing page. Since landing pages do not contain any identifiable MLMv2 links (other than links you add to the page yourself), you will need to use your back button, or simply enter http://mlmv2.com in the URL bar to get back to the front page of the site.

Style Templates:  A style template menu is available at the "View style templates" link. We have created a simple template, in a variety of colors, for you to choose. The style template is used to add interest to your content. You can customize the template, if you wish, but it requires some knowledge of HTML (some companies may provide style templates, which we will make available automatically).  The style template is the basic frame around the landing page content.

Content Templates: Content templates allow you to replicate your content. If you would like to create several landing pages with similar content, or if you would like to add some simple elements, such as a logo, that should be added to every landing page, a content template can be very useful. Click "Create new content template" to create a new template. Enter the "Content Body" using the instructions found under Landing Pages, Step 4 above. Once you have finished, click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

To view the content templates you have created, click the "View content templates" link. Examples of each of your templates will appear on the page, with the name and options at the top of each. Each template will have links to create a landing page using the template, create another template using the template, edit the template, or delete the template.

NOTE: Listen to the audio help button under the CAPTURE PAGE OPTIONS area.
